I entered, I bombed.
I had a few extra cocktails to sooth the ego.
I sat up late talking to my close photog buddies about what it means to shoot for clients and to shoot for ourselves.
We all walked away from the week in Melbourne with resolve to push ourselves, plan more for personal work and step outside our comfort zones.
What it really came down to was, it was time to face our fear and put more of ourselves into our personal projects and just start shooting for ourselves.
The work that we saw at this years Australian Professional Photography Awards was mind blowing. Walking around seeing incredible images in print produced many oooos and aahs and simply silent staring at the visual feast which our Australian photographers produced this year. Freaking talented bunch.

I did manage two awards at the 2016 AIPP ACT EPSON PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS. The two I picked up were for my client work. I am lucky to have clients who trust me to do what I do.
I spent a few days hanging with my crew, walking around Melbourne and playing. Something that DAVID DUCHEMIN reminded us all of in his Keynote talk. It was fun, inspiring and connecting.
We spoke of grand plans, shared ideas, laughed till our bellies hurt and simply played.
Here’s what we saw.
